Book Distribution – Sharing Wisdom, One Volume at a Time
Following Srila Prabhupada’s original order – “Put a book in every home” – volunteers distribute Bhagavad-gitas, Srimad Bhagavatams, and other spiritual texts across Melbourne streets, universities, and festivals. Each book is offered as a gift of knowledge, never sold, only shared with love. In 2026 alone, the global Sankirtan movement continues to break records, placing sacred texts in the hands of sincere seekers everywhere..
Sankirtan on the Streets – Chanting for Peace
The congregational chanting of the holy names – Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare – fills public spaces with sacred sound. Derived from the Sanskrit word san-kirtana (“complete chanting”), this practice is described in Vedic scriptures as the most powerful spiritual practice for the current age. It is said that even a passerby who hears the holy name receives an eternal benefit. Groups gather regularly at Federation Square, Melbourne Central, and during festivals.
